My name is Michael Hoexter and I’m a sustainable energy policy and marketing consultant based in California. Starting out with the assumption that unregulated or unsubsidized energy markets will lead the energy revolution we require in just a few short decades leads to a dead end. Policy and politics, fortunately or unfortunately, now play and will continue to a play a key role in determining how we use energy in the coming years. In this blog, I will address more general political issues that have an impact on energy policy but also effect so many other areas of life.
As I don’t like to mix too many different topics on a single blog, and since WordPress.com allows multiple blogs very easily, I have created this blog as well as my Green Thoughts, climate and energy blog. In this Politics 2100 blog, I will be approaching politics from a number of perspectives, in particular reflecting on the economic and psychological dimensions of political developments and action. Overall, I believe we need better social science to meet the challenges of the 21st Century, and I hope this blog contributes to a multi-disciplinary understanding of how politics works now and might work better in the future.
